3.0.2 Release
Aug 27, 2008 | Shane Bonham
Hello Resellers and Developers! We are happy to announce the 3.0.2 minor release of MonkCMS. You can read our official release notes here. In addition, there are several new features and improvements that are exclusive to the reseller and developer crowd.
Features
Imports
We now offer direct imports into the following modules:
- Branches
- Articles
- Members
- Events
Display monklets for sermons
You can now power the output of the sermons module completely using display monklets, much like with blogs. This includes automatic filtering by month, preacher, category and series, as well as being able to place sermons wherever you like in the navigation. More info can be found at http://developers.monkcms.com/article/sermons-overview/
Link List Module
The Link List module can be used to assemble a list of links, much like a smaller version of the nav. You can associate text description and an image with each link. Lists can also be nested hierarchically. It's perfect for maintaining an image-based list of quicklinks. A user manual entry can be found here. In addition, there is an overview, and API reference available.
Improvements
There have also been a number of general improvements that we hope you will find useful.
- Events can be ordered by any field (http://developers.monkcms.com/article/events-api/#list-parameters)
- RSVP links available in event list using __registration__ (http://developers.monkcms.com/article/events-api/#list-show)
- RSS feeds for discussions using __rssfeedurl__ (http://developers.monkcms.com/article/discussions-api/)
- RSVP text can now be customized using __registration linktext=’Your Text Here’__ (http://developers.monkcms.com/article/events-api/#list-show)
- Number of images in gallerys can be displayed using __numberofimages__ for show_galleries, before_show_gallery and show_gallery (http://developers.monkcms.com/article/gallery-api/)
- __import__ tag for event lists (http://developers.monkcms.com/article/events-api/#list-show)
- New parameters for nav output, including find:$_GET[‘nav’] (which only outputs relevant nav branches) and toplevel:n (which limits upper nav level) (http://developers.monkcms.com/article/navigation-api/)
We hope these features and improvements make it easier for you to build high quality sites on the MonkCMS platform. As always, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to get in touch at http://support.monkdev.com/.
