Adding Custom htaccess Rules to Your Site

Sometimes you will need custom htaccess rules for your site.

When a Load Config is performed for a site, that site's .htaccess file is overwritten; thus, if a Load Config is performed, or if your site's .htaccess file gets deleted, you could lose any custom rules that have been added to your site's.htaccess file.

To counter the possiblility of losing these custom rules, custom htaccess rules for your web site should be stored in the CMS. When a Load Config is performed for your site, these custom rules will be added to your site's .htaccess file.

Prerequisites

  • You must have reseller, site administrator, or root privileges for your site.

Steps to adding custom .htaccess rules to your site

  1. Log into the CMS.
  2. Go to the Admin section.
  3. If your site is not displayed by default, then find your site in the list of displayed sites, and click Edit.
  4. Click the Custom htaccess link.
  5. Enter your htaccess rules in the text box provided, and click save when done.
  6. The htaccess will be updated with your changes.
